Rama Vilasom Training College, Valakom founded by Sri. R. Balakrishna Pillai, Former Minister of transport Govt. of Kerala, started functioning form the year 2005 under R Balakrishna Pillai Charitable Trust registered on 6th Oct.1995 with Registration No.1264. The college is situated in a rural area 100 mts east to M C road at Valakom, a calm and quiet village. The college has its own two storied building having a plinth area of 6124 sqft. The college is affiliated to Kerala University and the student strength is 100. College offers six optional subjects. They are English, Malayalam, Physical Science, Natural Science, Social Science and Commerce

The teaching staff strength consists of eight fully qualified permanent lectures including principal. In addition to these, two part time lectures are also working in this college. Other than the usual academic activities we give special leadership training to our students through a daily programme called “ Thought for the day”. We used to organize weekly programmes for developing the communicative skills of our students in English. Teachers are also having ‘Wednesday Seminars’ for their professional improvement. For example Computer lab, Psychology lab, Technology lab, Science lab etc. The college caters to the need of the neighboring villages for trained teachers. All modern equipments such as LCD Projector, Handycam etc are also available for providing quality training. We used to organize invited lectures by experts to benefit our students and teachers.
